Frequently Asked Questions

What will I receive as part of the Fannie May franchise system?
You and your operating partner or general manager will have up to a week of training at our headquarters. Plus, we will provide up to five days of help at your own location around the time of your Grand Opening. You will have access to all Fannie May chocolates and related products and other exclusive operational tools. You will also receive marketing support and exposure through current and continual marketing efforts conducted by our corporate offices. And, we'll provide you with a copy of our confidential operations manual to help you run your business effectively.

What type of prior experience do I need to have?
We look for candidates who have an aptitude for sales and customer service, and having some management and business or franchise ownership skills is also important. However, it is not necessary to have previous experience in the confections industry. Regardless of your skills or background, we will provide the tools and training you need to run your own Fannie May stores. We do, of course, also expect that you have capital to invest in the franchise program.

How much will the Fannie May franchise investment cost me?
For an average market, the estimated required investment for a start-up franchise ranges between $260,000 and $460,000 including the franchisee fee of $40,000 and working capital. As with any new business venture, it's important that you have the funds needed to adequately open and operate your new business.

Is financing available?
No, we do not offer direct financing to franchisees. We may be able to provide references to qualified financing or lending agencies, on a case-by-case basis.

What is the term of the franchise agreement?
The initial term of your franchise agreement is five years, with two subsequent five-year renewal terms.
